In honor of Earth Day 2021, Cadence partnered with Shenandoah Green, the City of Staunton, and Bartlett Tree Experts, to plant a total of 66 sapling trees throughout the 15.6-acre property at its corporate headquarters in Staunton, Virginia. Shenandoah Green, a local non-profit, is committed to planting a tree for every child enrolled in Staunton City Schools during the 2019-2020 school year as part of their Staunton Legacy Tree Project which began in the fall of 2020. Shenandoah Green plans on planting a total of 2,746 trees by the end of 2021 in local city parks, neighborhoods, businesses, and schools.
Of the new saplings planted yesterday, our Virginia property now has nine bur oaks and nine silver maples planted in the front of the property. There were also 48 new trees planted in the back of our property that consist of yellowwoods, American hornbeams, and Japanese maples.
It was a great day and Cadence is thankful for everyone that pitched in to plant trees in an effort to help reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a healthier community.
